Married to Sharon, with 2 children and 7 grandchildren. Grew up in the Foam Lake area.
Bob received an Exemplary Service Medal from the Government of Canada for his service of over 20 years to the Kipling Fire Department where he served for over 15 years as Fire Chief. He has served as Mayor of Kipling for nine years, executive member of the Chamber of Commerce, including president, Lions Club for four years, Credit Union Manager's association for 38 years including acting as the Provincial President for four years, Board of Trustees member for the hospital and care home for nine years serving as chairman for five years.
Is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 35 years currently serving as treasurer. Treasurer of the RC Church for the past 25 years. Is a board member of Kipling Industries serving the needs of handicapped adults, including a group home. Is technically competent in numerous software programs.
Obtained numerous financial related course credits including university course credits during the credit union career from June 1965 to June 2007. Retired as CEO of Plainsview Credit Union after 42 years of continuous employment in the credit union system. The Plainsview Credit Union has 12 branch locations.
During his management of Kipling Credit Union, the Credit Union received the National Economic Achievement Award from Credit Union Central of Canada for its support in attracting the establishment of a major hog operation from the Netherlands.
The Credit Union was also a finalist in 1996 for an ABEX award for economic development in the area.
