Buying or selling a house will be one of the biggest purchases and most stressful times of your life. I believe that my open and friendly personality, knowledge, and access to resources will be an asset in assisting you on this journey. My wife and I moved to Oxbow in August of 2009, from North West British Columbia, where I worked as a Mental Health Social Worker for ten years. We have a 22 year old son (my step-son) who is a student at the University of Toronto. Our move has given me the opportunity to re-evaluate the path that I was on and pursue new endeavours. In December of ’09 while attending a community event in Carlyle, with my wife, I picked up a local newspaper and an advertisement looking for a real estate agent caught my eye. I have often thought of pursuing a career in real estate, and thus responded to the ad. Two people with great vision agreed to take me on. I started taking the mandatory courses in February 2010 and two months later I had completed the introductory course, as well as the residential unit and on April 20, 2010 had successfully become a licensed agent. I have also recently made arrangements to take the farming course.
Over the years I have lived in various Canadian communities, in four provinces, including Quebec City, North Bay, Sudbury, London, Gravelbourg, Banff, Victoria, and more; and have lived in a variety of houses. These experiences have helped me to understand the necessity of having a house that you are completely satisfied with and can truly call home.
I am a community minded person and get involved with the communities in which I live. Over the years I have been a member of various boards of directors including; local pools, child development centres, and brain injury associations. I have also played key roles in establishing brain injury associations in North Bay, Ontario and in Terrace, British Columbia. Over the years I have also been part of community service clubs and have coached baseball and hockey. I am interested in sports, the arts, travelling, camping, and the outdoors, as well as education. Many of my moves have been precipitated by my various educational pursuits. I have degrees in Sociology, Social Work, and Recreation Leadership; and am presently working on a Masters in Leadership. My drive to continually update my education and my passionate pursuit of lifelong learning encourages me to continually learn more so that I can better serve my customers. If I don’t know the answer I will find it. The added bonus to having me as a salesperson is the fact that the team at Yorkton RE/MAX® Blue Chip Realty will be behind me as support.
I am a very people oriented individual who prides myself on my ability to listen. I would be honoured to serve as your real-estate agent, and to help you manoeuvre through the maze that is home-buying and/or selling. Along with helping you to find the right home I can help you to get o know the community in which you buy.
